Spag Bol 20 mins



  • 500g mince
  • 1onion chopped finely
  • 1 clove of garlic minced
  • 1 tin of tomtoes (Italian flavour (optional))
  • 1 tin of tomato puree
  • 4 squares of frozen spinach
  • 1/2 C worchestershire sauce
  • 1TBsp mixed spice
  • Squirt of tomato sauce
  • S + P
  • Diamond Spaghetti (good sized handfull)
  • Cooking spray EVOO
  • water
  • cheese (optional)


  • Boil your jug (takes less time and power boiling water this way
  • Start cooking mince in big frypan
  • Pour boiling water into a big pot add a good pinch of salt and a good spray of EVOO - cover leaving it to start boiling again
  • Brown mince and add onion, garlic, s+p - keep it moving
  • Add big handfull of spag to pot once it's boiling - leave top exposed till the bottom of the spag goes a bit soft then poke it down with a pasta spoon
  • Mix up tomato puree, mixed spices, worchestershire sauce and tomato sauce in a bowl or jug and add to mince
  • Add can of tomatoes to mince
  • Add spinach to mince - stir it to break it down as it starts to thaw in liquid
  • Add more water as the liquid reduces until all ingreds are cooked and have mixed well
  • Make sure your spag is cooking evenly and stir up every now and then with the pasta spoon
  • Empty spag into colander in sink and run cold water through, to stop it cooking
  • Spoon up spag on plates and then put mince + sauce on top
  • Sprinkle with grated cheese if you fancy that
